Cowboy Cattle Drives

The word cowboy reminds us about the city of Texas. Texas in the United States of America is famous for cowboys and they have a distinct and exclusive history. The cowboys in Texas had a unique attire with tight trouser, white shirt, long boots and one-side bended hat. These cowboys' main job is to herd the cattle on the open field. Thus cowboy cattle drives have a distinct history and significance in the United States of America. It was during the Spanish conquest in North America that they realized, the southwestern part of America was not suitable for farming. The area was covered with grasses. At this very juncture the Spanish invaders decided to introduce cattle rearing on these areas. This was the initial beginning of the cow boy culture in America and gradually the cowboys became very popular in US.
They are hard working people and very much engrossed in their work.

The cowboy cattle drives started with the end of the American Civil War. As the war came to an end it was realized that there was a huge shortage of meet in US.

But during this time cattle was more in number in Texas and other places in the southwestern parts of America. Thus here lie the cowboy cattle drives when the cowboys drove the cattle from Texas to different parts of America where there was a shortage of meet.
